Sensei Mark Sperrey

Mark Sperrey is the Owner and Chief Instructor of the Houlton School of Martial Arts “HSMA”.  He currently holds the rank of 2nd degree black belt “Nidan” in the art of To-Shin Do, and is a brown belt in the art of Shotokan Karate.  He has 15 years of martial arts experience.  Mark is currently employed as a full-time law enforcement officer.  He is a certified Defensive Tactics Instructor in the State of Maine; certified ASP Baton Instructor; and a certified Less Lethal Munitions Instructor.  He teaches workplace violence/awareness seminars and women self-defense courses. Mark has a working knowledge of Maine laws dealing with the use of force and how they apply to defending one's self or a third party.

Adam Curran

Adam Curran is a coach for the Little Dragon and Junior classes at HSMA.  He currently holds a brown belt with a white stripe.  Adam started his martial arts journey in high school, studying Shotokan Karate.  He began studying To-Shin Do with John Poliquin at the Quest Center in Portland, ME in 1997.  Adam has a back ground in law enforcement and is currently employed by the U.S. Border Patrol.  He is also a certified self-defense instructor for corrections.
